Job Family Definition:
Designs, plans, develops and manages a product or portfolio of products throughout the solution portfolio lifecycle: from new product definition or enhancements to existing products; planning, design, forecasting, and production; to end of life.
Management Level Definition:
Applies expert subject matter knowledge to manage staff activities in solving most complex business/technical issues within established policies. Manages activities of exempt individual contributors (typically Expert/Master) and/or MG1s. Has accountability for a large multi-department area(s) or location(s) with significant impact on business unit results and organizational strategy. Acts as a key advisor to senior management on the development of overall policies and long-term goals of the organization. Plans, manages, and monitors high-end operational/tactical activities of Staff. Staff members' primary focus is on either high-end tactical or broad strategic issues or a combination of both. Recruits and supports development of direct staff members. Position typically reports to Director or above.
Additional Guidance/Criteria: Manages and controls activities within a sub-region or Region; Typically manages 10 or more direct reports. Span of Control guidelines may differ from these numbers.
Responsibilities:
The role for a Storage as a Service (SaaS) Product Manager seeks a candidate that is an innovative and experienced Product Manager of products, solutions and services, with a demonstrated history of working on new ventures and business transformation. Experience in Cloud solutions such a AWS and Azure , and detailed experience with *aaS services are essential.
Detailed background and direct experience in leading product management functions for Storage solutions at major market leaders.
Experience with working on strategic transformation initiatives that span the whole company such as moving from a traditional on-prem provider to an "as a service" model.
Must have exceptional communication skills , written and verbal and with a variety of different audiences, internal and external
Experience working with customer and partners closely to determine how they can utilize the cloud based aaS platforms the company is developing.
Obsession with solving real customer problems.
Experience working with AWS and/or Azure cloud ecosystems and commerce marketplaces.
Ability to work in geographically dispersed engineering, product and sales teams. This will involve both office work and remote (hybrid) models
Prior work at companies such as NetApp, VMware, Pure Storage, Dell (EMC) a plus
